I liked my aunt's idea of writing a yearly letter about
her family so much that I decided to be a “copy-cat” and write about our little
family. A shout out to my aunt and her family!!
Our year started out on a sad note with our beautiful
13-year-old chocolate Labrador named William. In January, we made the hard
decision of sending him on to meet his maker. He is greatly missed but never
forgotten.
On
a high note, my burly man and I have had lots of fun with our ninas
this year. We took a two-week family trip. We started out to Angel Fire,
New Mexico to visit our friends at their cabin. After a blowout and
stopping
for a short unplanned and overnight layover in Santa Rosa then on to
Santa Fe
for a new set of tires, we finally made it. It was the longest five-hour
trip
we’ve ever made. It was loads of fun, however we did have another little
incident. The burly man broke his ribs on the homemade zip line but we
won’t say much about
that. Ya’ll just need to know he’s recovered and functioning at full
capacity.
When all is said and done, we have no complaints about the week and
would do it
again minus the hiccups. From Angel Fire, we stopped to see the Rio
Grande
Gorge on our way to Lake City, Colorado for a week long stay at the
family cabin. On the way back, we took the scenic route and saw the
Royal Gorge and
explored Bishop’s Castle. We rested and enjoyed family.
Junior turned nine this month and is in the third grade. Her
favorite extracurricular activities is to draw, write, and read. We can’t keep
enough books around for her to read, draw, or write about. She loves school and loves to learn. She took horse lessons too!
Booger turned three in June. She is at a babysitter for the
first time in her life, and although it took her a few weeks to adjust, she
absolutely loves it. She even asks if she can go on the weekends. She is
learning her colors, letters, and numbers. Her favorites are anything from the
movie Frozen and of course she loves anything her sister has or anything she
cannot have.
After a few semesters of full time college, we made the
decision for me to accept a job opportunity at Junior's school as a teacher’s
aide for sixth through eight grade. I enjoy my time, the kids, and the
flexibility.
May the Lord keep you and bless you in the next year.
Much love!
